Snoring Therapy in Fort Smith
Do you snore? If so, James B. Saviers, DDS, may have the solution to your problem!
What Causes Snoring?
Snoring is caused by the vibrations created when soft- and hard-tissue palates get too close; vibrations that occur because of an increasingly narrow air passage. As air passes over the soft tissue, it creates a "flapping" sound. That’s the snoring sound we hear.
Health Risks of Snoring
Snoring not only disrupts your sleep pattern (and those around you), it also keeps you from getting a good night's rest. Loud snoring can be a warning sign of a serious sleep disorder known as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). With OSA, breathing repeatedly stops due to blocked air passages. Untreated OSA can increase your risk of stroke, heart attack and other health problems. If you experience frequent snoring, consider snoring therapy or a mouthpiece for snoring and schedule an evaluation with one of our experienced team members.
